Disconnect your garden hose for winter!
Why is this important?
Leaving your garden hose connected to a water source during winter can damage both your hose and your home’s plumbing. When water freezes, it expands, so any water left inside the hose can lead to cracked hoses, leaks, and frozen pipes. That can mean costly repairs and unnecessary springtime headaches. 💸😬
What to do:
🔧 Disconnect your garden hose from the outdoor faucet or spigot.
💦 Drain any remaining water by lifting one end of the hose and slowly walking along it, letting the water flow out as you go.
🏡 Store the hose in a sheltered area, such as a garage or shed, to protect it from harsh winter conditions.
